International Labour Organization

Topics

  1. Ensuring Labor Rights for Foreign Workers

  2. Technological Labor Displacement: Curse or Opportunity?

COMMITTEE DESCRIPTION

The International Labor Organization is a committee that combines country member states and labor worker organizations. The committee will begin in two separate cabinets, one for member states and one for the organizations. After the daily lunch break, the committee will merge into one room of the member states and the organizations. On each day, the committee will discuss a different topic. The ILO's key concern is the protection of labor rights for foreign workers, who are often vulnerable to exploitation and abuse in the workplace. The ILO has implemented international labor standards to ensure equal treatment and rights for migrant workers. Technology has also brought both opportunities and challenges to the world of work. The ILO advocates for a human-centered approach to technological change, promoting reskilling and upskilling programs and creating social protection measures for workers negatively impacted by technological advancements.
